Wild-caught salmon delivered straight to your door? Yes, please!
One of the reasons we started our farm was to give our family access to fresh, nourishing food. We grow much of it ourselves—seasonal vegetables, pasture-raised meats, raw milk—but there are a few things we just can’t produce here in Northeast Utah.
Like fresh, wild-caught Alaskan seafood.
Thankfully, we’ve found the next best thing: working directly with Citizen Salmon Alaska, a Community Supported Fishery (CSF) based in Kachemak Bay on the southern Kenai Peninsula.
I first connected with Aaron from Citizen Salmon a couple of years ago, and we’ve been ordering ever since. His team works with small-boat fishermen to responsibly harvest sockeye salmon—a fish known for its brilliant red color, rich flavor, and amazing nutritional profile. Think: high in Omega-3s, Vitamin D, B12, and selenium.
If you’ve never tried wild-caught sockeye salmon before, it’s a game changer. And if you have, you know exactly what I mean. It’s bold, clean, satisfying—and a dream on the grill.
Aaron flash-freezes the salmon within hours of being caught and ships it overnight in sustainable packaging. Even in our remote rural town, it arrives fully frozen and ready for the freezer (or the dinner plate).
This year, I’m organizing a local group order that will ship out in mid July. If you’re nearby and want to go in together, we’ll all benefit from a lower price per pound—just let me know by Saturday, June 28th.
And for anyone placing their own order, you can use the code FORBES2025 at checkout to get 5% off.
I’m so excited to be restocking our freezer with this beautiful fish and getting a few more easy, nourishing meals on the table this summer. I’d love to hear your favorite salmon recipes if you have one!
